Laurenstones Orkney

  Tracey Laurenson is one of the very few qualified Stonemasons left in Orkney

 she started her business in 2003, after passing her course in Stone masonary

 at Weymouth College.

Here she learned skills in masonry, carving, building & construction.

 Under guidance of tutor Andrew Whittle

 she also excels at engraveing stone.

Tracey operates from her workshop at the rear of her property in Finstown Orkney

 Even though tracey is a busy mother of two young children, she still manages to create truly unique furniture and curios

 with a definate Orkney flavour

Many of her stones are influenced by the Neolithic standing stones at Brodgar and Stenness, she also uses the influence of viking norse runes in her work.
